The Sentinel ECP-5K is an expandable external casing packer that rides down with the casing string and sets a steel-reinforced barrier in the annulus. It holds its seal through ovalized, washed-out, or deviated hole conditions where conventional packers lose contact.

Self-centering element

Steel reinforcement slats keep full-casing-to-hole contact in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells.

Rough-coated mandrel

Resists abrasion during reciprocation or rotation, protecting the element on the way to depth

Cement-set activation

Cement or mud pumped through the setting valve expands the element on command.

Stage cementing

Set above a stage collar to isolate the lower zone from the hydrostatic load of a long cement column

Wherever the annulus needs a real barrier

Off-bottom cementing

Protect a low-pressure or depleted completion below the packer while cement is placed above it

Lost circulation zones

Isolate a thief zone below the packer so cement placed above doesn’t disappear into the formation

Gas migration control

Block the annular path gas would otherwise take while cement sets.

Zonal isolation

Separate production or injection zones without a full squeeze-cementing operation.

Casing-while-drilling

The CWD-rated configuration resists the torque, shock, and abrasion of CWD/LWD service..

Built to hold contact, wherever the hole goes

An external casing packer only works if the element stays intact on the way in and conforms fully once it’s set. Every part of the ECP-5K is built around that.

ELEMENT - Expandable elastomer, steel-reinforced so it self-centers and holds shape against irregular hole.

MANDREL - Rough-coated mandrel resists abrasion during reciprocation or rotation on the way to depth.

SLATS- Steel reinforcement slats inside the element maintain full-casing-to-hole contact once expanded.

VALVES- Setting valve admits cement or mud to expand the element on command, then holds it set.
